Siswa-siswi SMK di Surabaya Rakit 4.484 Laptop

SURABAYA - Siswa-siswi SMK di Surabaya sudah membuktikan diri bahwa mereka sanggup merakit laptop sendiri dalam jumlah massal. Sebanyak 4.484 unit netbook atau laptop mini berhasil mereka rakit untuk kebutuhan sendiri.

Perangkat tersebut akan dibagikan ke sekolah-sekolah menengah kejuruan baik negeri maupun swasta di Jawa Timur sepanjang pertengahan Januari 2011. Netbook itu dirakit 700 siswa SMK negeri dan swasta di Surabaya pada akhir November 2010 atas dukungan Direktorat Pembinaan SMK Kementerian Pendidikan Nasional.

Beberapa kepala sekolah SMK seperti dari Kabupaten Malang dan Bojonegoro terlihat mengambil komputer jinjing mini itu Senin (17/1/2011). Sebelum diserahkan, komputer jinjing mini dicek ulang oleh tim yang terdiri atas 12 siswa kelas X SMKN 2 Surabaya didampingi Hary Subagio Kepala Program Teknologi Informatika sekolah tersebut.

"Sesungguhnya sudah ada beberapa pengecekan awal, tetapi kontrol terakhir ini untuk meyakinkan karya siswa SMK memang bisa digunakan. Lagipula, ini sekaligus untuk pembelajaran siswa," tutur Hary.

Kepala SMKN 2 Surabaya Bahrun menambahkan, 4.484 komputer jinjing mini ini dibagikan kepada SMK Negeri Swasta se-Jawa Timur. Sebanyak 340 unit diberikan kepada 78 SMK Negeri Swasta di Surabaya. Adapun sisanya didistribusikan kepada 898 SMK Negeri dan Swasta di luar Surabaya, di Jatim.

Distribusi komputer jinjing mini untuk sekolah-sekolah di luar Surabaya hampir rampung pekan ini. Setelahnya, kata Bahrun, distribusi untuk sekolah di Surabaya. Diharapkan pekerjaan ini selesai sebelum Januari berakhir.

Setiap SMK mendapatkan 4 unit komputer jinjing mini dengan prosesor intel 1,66 GHz, perangkat keras (harddisk) 250 GB, memory 1 GB - DDR 3, perangkat baca kartu 8 in 1 card reader (MMC/RSmmc/sD).

Untuk perakitan itu, SMKN 2 Surabaya mencatatkan diri dalam rekor Museum Rekor Indonesia (MURI) sebagai pemrakarsa perakitan laptop terbanyak.
