"Model baru pengembangan kawasan agropolitan itu ditemukan oleh mahasiswa Program Doktor Sekolah Pascasarjana (SPs) IPB, Zulfa Fitri Ikatrinasari," kata Wakil Dekan Fakultas Teknologi Pertanian (Fateta) IPB, Dr Ir Sugiyono, M.App.Sc, Minggu.
Pada Jumat (23/7), Zulfa Fitri Ikatrinasari menjadi "promovenda" (peserta ujian disertasi) dengan mempresentasikan hasil penelitiannya berjudul "Rekayasa Sistem Pendukung Keputusan Intelijen Agropolitan untuk Pengembangan Agropolitan Berbasis Agroindustri" di hadapan Sidang Terbuka di kampus IPB Darmaga Bogor.
Dalam sidang terbuka itu, Dr Sugiyono yang memimpin persidangan dengan tim penguji terdiri dari Prof Dr Ir M Syamsul Maarif, MEng sebagai ketua komisi pembimbing, Prof Dr Ir E Gumbira Sa?id, MADev, Prof Dr Ir Marimin, MSc, Dr Ir Tajuddin Bantacut, MSc, dan Dr Ir Aris Munandar, MS.
Ujian tersebut juga menghadirkan dua penguji luar komisi Koordinator Tim Pendukung Teknis Rehabilitasi dan Rekonstruksi Provinsi Sumatera Barat, Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana (BNPB) Dr Ir Sugimin Pranoto, MSc serta staf pengajar Departemen Komunikasi dan Pengembangan Masyarakat (KPM), Fakultas Ekologi Manusia, IPB Dr Ir Arya Hadi Dharmawan, MSc.Agr.
"Model yang ditemukan mahasiswa IPB dalam pengembangan kawasan agropolitan tersebut merupakan penemuan baru, karena hasilnya akan sangat baik bagi pengembangan agropolitan, sebab mampu menekan komponen biaya sehingga bisa lebih efektif dan efisien," kata Sugiyono.
Menurut Zulfa Fitra Ikatrinasari, agropolitan atau kota pertanian merupakan salah satu konsep pengembangan wilayah dengan basis pengembangan pertanian yang dapat mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan sumberdaya potensial dan peningkatan daya saing suatu daerah.
"Pengembangan agropolitan mempercepat pembangunan perdesaan sehingga dapat mengatasi permasalahan kesenjangan pembangunan," kata Zulfa Fitri Ikatrinasari yang juga anak pertama Duta Besar RI untuk Kerajaan Maroko, Tosari Widjaja itu.
Otonomi lokal merupakan syarat bagi pengembangan agropolitan sehingga setiap kawasan memiliki wewenang terhadap sumber-sumber ekonomi.
Selain itu, keuntungan yang diperoleh dari kegiatan setempat harus ditanam kembali untuk menaikkan daya-hasil dan menciptakan suatu keadaan yang mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi selanjutnya.
